Did you know that there’s a nationwide celebration called Citizenship Day? This year will mark the American Immigration Lawyers Association’s (AILA) 17th Annual Citizenship Day event. It is a day where members host free workshops to assist eligible legal permanent residents in the preparation and submission of their applications for U.S. Naturalization.
I am pleased to announce that this upcoming Saturday, September 17, 2022, I will be volunteering with the Erie Neighborhood House during their Citizenship Day workshop. The workshop will be hosted by the Erie Neighborhood House in partnership with Palenque LSNA, and Alliance of Filipinos for Immigrant Rights and Empowerment (AFIRE). I could not be more excited to volunteer with these organizations and assist our community!
While this workshop is limited to Illinois residents, there are several programs offering the same assistance throughout the country. If you would like to know more about Citizenship Day check out AILA’s website.

¿Sabías que hay una celebración a nivel nacional llamada Día de la Ciudadanía? Este año marcará el 17º evento anual del Día de la Ciudadanía de la Asociación Estadounidense de Abogados de Inmigración (AILA). Es un día en el que los miembros organizan talleres gratuitos para ayudar a los residentes permanentes legales elegibles en la preparación y presentación de sus solicitudes de naturalización estadounidense.
Me complace anunciar que el próximo sábado 17 de septiembre de 2022 seré voluntario en Erie Neighborhood House durante su taller del Día de la Ciudadanía. El taller será organizado por Erie Neighborhood House en asociación con Palenque LSNA y Alliance of Filipinos for Immigrant Rights and Empowerment (AFIRE). ¡No podría estar más emocionado de ser voluntario en estas organizaciones y ayudar a nuestra comunidad!
